Welcome to the summer Newsletter

Welcome to the summer update from Central Ajax. We hope you are all enjoying your summer break and are looking forward to the start of another exciting season of football. We can all agree that it’s been a rather busy and eventful few weeks for the club, but we have been so bowled over by the incredible response and support from the Ajax family, as always. Thank you all so much. As we approach the start of the 2021/22 season, we are ready and eager to kick off our best season ever.

Ajax Park Update
We are so proud that Ajax Park has been open again for several weeks now since the departure of the travellers from the site. Warwick District Council did an excellent job in clearing and cleaning the site for us and it is so very much appreciated. In the main, the pitches were not too badly damaged and have had some remedial work completed by our pitch maintenance partner Lakeside. Other areas of the ground do need some additional works as you may have seen. These are planned to be completed soon. A height barrier has also been ordered for the front gate to try and secure the site further and reduce the risk of this happening in future. This should be installed shortly.

The additional groundwork and barrier obviously came at a cost to the club and was unplanned from our forecast. We have had an amazing response to our Fundraising effort. At point of writing £3,400 has been raised which is fantastic and many thanks to all that have donated.

A huge thankyou to Katrina Welton who helped us set the funding page up and has also helped to apply for a further Council grant to support the barrier works and help to make the site secure.

Also massive thanks to Hatton Electrical Wholesale our 1st team sponsor who made a large donation, and to former Central Ajax player Ben Foster (Watford FC) who made a huge donation to achieve our original target.

The last update on Ajax Park is that the drainage is now bedding in and the pitches affected are starting to grass over, in time for the new season. With the recent storms we now know that the drainage does work and will make a difference this winter. So bring it on!!

2021/22 Season Registration & Subscription
The registration and subscription for next season will shortly be open and this season we will again use the Pitchero system. Please watch out for the request coming through in the next week or so.

A reminder of the fixed costs that your membership covers to help keep the club running,
• League & Cup entrance fees for all teams incl Referee fees
• Pitch maintenance and groundworks
• Team equipment incl kits/balls/nets etc
• Winter training costs – all teams will be offered access to Racing Club Warwick’s new Astro pitch
• End of season trophies / awards
• Club House utilities & mortgage incl water/electricity

Committee & Volunteer Roles
Many thanks for the interest that has been shown in the open Committee roles. We’re delighted to confirm that we now have a brand new Treasurer on board (thank you Colin Corby) and some temporary cover in place for other roles. However, we do still have two of the key positions of Chairman and Secretary available and we’d be delighted to hear from you or anyone you think would be great for either role.

Could you come and help us? Either just a little or as much as you can, it all makes a massive difference. From helping out here and there, to helping shape the future success of Central Ajax FC, we’re really excited about the future of our fantastic club and we’d love to welcome you to the team!

We are also looking for continued support of volunteers to help run the club, be it from helping upkeep the grounds, or with fundraising or social activities. All help is appreciated and does make a huge difference.

If you are interested or can spare some time, please reach out to the Central Ajax Committee through your team manager or contact admin@centralajaxfc.co.uk for further details.

We are really looking forward to the new season starting in just a few weeks! Let’s hope we can have an uninterrupted season this year ?

If you have anything, you would like us to include in future newsletters/updates, we’d love to hear from you. Simply email admin@centralajaxfc.co.uk with any comments or suggestions.
